Creepy History Lesson

Hi Y'all,

I know it's been awhile since my last post. At one time I found blogging a lot of fun and a way for me to vent, mainly because I was living alone and had no one to talk with. But I've found a special person who is fun I can vent to, and I'm no longer alone. So I don't need a blog anymore. I will continue to read/comment on people's blogs but I don't plan on posting anymore. Thanks for stopping by and listening to my two cents.

Now read this.....

I've read this many many times and it still amazes me:

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head.

Now it gets really weird.

Lincoln 's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln.

Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat.

Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford.'
Kennedy was shot in a car called ' Lincoln' made by 'Ford.'

Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

And here's the kicker...

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

Creepy huh? Send this to as many people as you can, cause: Hey, this is one history lesson people don't mind reading

Payday

Today is payday! It's my first check as an RN. I was amazed at the size of it. I could hardly believe that I was really making that much money. It defiantly comes in the nick of time.

I was in class all day today at work. It's a little on the boring side, but heck I'm being paid to sit there. After work D2 and I went to a formal dance. It's a lot of fun getting all dressed up. He wore a very nice suit and I had a beautiful evening gown. Together we were HOT!!

I'm so tired right now, I can't think right so I'm going to finally get a good night sleep.

More Big News

Some of you could already see this coming but D2 and I are officially engaged!!!

Here's how it went down

After I got off work this morning we went down to disneyland. D2 had this idea to try and hit as many of the camera people to take our picture. So thats what we did, the last planned stop was out front of disneyland near the flowers of mickey. We took so pictures, but D2 was not pleased with something, and asked the lady to take a few more pictures. Next thing I know is he is on one knee with a ring asking me to marry him. I was a little shocked, but in my gut I knew something was up. By the way I said yes. The disneyland people were so great they took lots of pictures of us and were so sweet. After all that we decided to go walk around d-land a little bit more. We got on the horseless carriage and told the driver we had just gotten engaged; we were given a private ride up to the castle. But all the way up to the castle the lady was yelling "These people just got engaged!" to ever single person we passed. I think I turned a very red, and was extremely pleased to get off the car. The people of main street smiled, waved, and some clapped. All in all the driver made this day even more memorable. By the way before you ask no date set yet. We are planning on getting married in the temple, but thats about as far as our planning has come.

I've been up since yesterday (2/13/08) at 4:30pm; I'm a little tired now so I will attempted to write more at a later date.

The Good News

The real good news is that Jesus can save you from your sins, but the second good news is....

At around 8:10 this morning I got a text message from "H" R.N. but I was too tired to get up and see what it said. Finally I got up about and hour later and my text message said Red R.N. I text her back and said "WHAT ?!?! OMGosh! I Can't believe it!!!!". About 2 minutes after that "E" R.N. called to tell me that I am:

Red Small Delight R.N.
(btw that really is my name)

Heeeeeelllllo

Well it's been a few days since my last post. So much has happened in my personal life. I could not even attempt to put some of it up here. D2 and I have come to terms with our disagreements and we are hoping to spend the rest of our lives together. I'm a little afraid of "settling down". But at the same time it's also exciting time of life. Here's one of my faviorite stories. It makes me think "what do I need to do to accomplish my goals"?

Dream To Fly
-- Author Unknown (this is a true story)

Larry Walters is among the relatively few who have actually turned their dreams into reality. His story is true, even though you may find it hard to believe.

Larry was a truck driver, but his lifelong dream was to fly. When he graduated from high school, he joined the Air Force in hopes of becoming a pilot. Unfortunately, poor eyesight disqualified him. So, when he finally left the service, he had to satisfy himself with watching others fly the fighter jets that criss-crossed the skies over his backyard. As he sat there in his lawn chair, he dreamed about the magic of flying.

Then one day, Larry Walters got an idea. He went down to the local Army-Navy surplus store and bought a tank of helium and forty-five weather balloons. These were not your brightly colored party balloons, these were heave-duty spheres measuring more than four feet across when fully inflated. Back in his yard, Larry used straps to attach the balloons to his lawn chair, the kind you might have in your own back yard.

He anchored the chair to the bumper of his jeep and inflated the balloons with helium. Then he packed some sandwiches and drinks and loaded a BB gun, figuring he could pop a few of those balloons when it was time to return to earth.

His preparations complete, Larry Walters sat in his chair and cut the anchoring cord. His plan was to lazily float up a ways, and then lazily back down to terra firma. But, things didn't quite work out that way.

When Larry cut the cord, he didn't float lazily up - he shot up as if fired from a cannon! Nor did he go up a couple hundred feet. He climbed and climbed, until he finally leveled off at eleven THOUSAND feet! At that height, he could hardly risk deflating any of the balloons, lest he unbalance the load and really experience flying! So, he stayed up there, sailing around for fourteen hours, totally at a loss as to how to get down. Eventually, Larry drifted into the approach corridor for Los Angeles International Airport. A Pan Am pilot radioed the tower about passing a guy in a lawn chair at eleven thousand feet... with a gun in his lap. (Now there's a conversation I would have liked to have heard!)

LAX is right on the ocean, and you may know that at nightfall, the winds on the coast begin to change. So, as dusk fell, Larry began drifting out to sea.

At that point, the Navy dispatched a helicopter to rescue him. But, the rescue team had a hard time getting to him, because the draft from their propeller kept pushing his home-made contraption farther and farther away. Eventually they were able to hover over him and drop a rescue line with which they gradually hauled him back to earth.

As soon as Larry hit the ground, he was arrested.

But as he was being led away in handcuffs, a television reporter called out to ask, "Mr. Walters, why did you do it?"

Larry stopped, eyed the man for a moment and replied nonchalantly,
"A man can't just sit around."

Seriously, though...

What are you doing today to make your dreams and goals come true?
"What happens tomorrow depends on what you do today." Are you doing something to improve your life... or just sitting around?

Thanks

Hey y'all,

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. I took boards this morning, the test was very hard. I felt I studied the best I could and I'm just going to hope for a miracle. The test shut off at 75 questions. I did not have any OB or psych question. I had a lot of check all that apply seriously I think I had like 10. Two math questions. And several questions that were very specific about medications, I think I knew those pretty good.

My gut feeling is because it shut off at 75 and that I didn't have OB or psych questions I did not pass. The test was so hard.

Going in for the test I felt calm; and during the test my mind was clear. I believe it was because the thoughts and prayers of everyone. Thank you.

I will let you know for sure what happens as soon as I find out.
