Moving Day

After a few up's and downs today is moving day. I got to pick up the uhaul truck in about 20 min and then I'll spend the rest of the day filling it up. While I'm packing it the carpet people will be at my house putting in the carpet!! I only found out yesterday that they would be able to put it in before I move. Which makes me very happy :-D

I'm a little sleepy I worked last night-- I'm hoping everything goes smoothly the rest of the day.

I still have not signed up for internet service, so this maybe the past post for a little bit. But I think everyone has my phone number...

So thats a quick up date, gotta go.

Red-- Master Floor Layer!

The last few days have been fully booked with projects at the new place. I'm learning a lot from this experience; such as when paint, the parts you can't reach the first time and you come back to with a smaller brush, well thats called "cutting in". I've learned that I am a VERY poor painter but that my sister Ebster is as amazing and FAST painter.

I've learned that Lowe's carpeting says they will have the carpeting in the house in 3 days, but sadly it is not true we are going on 2 1/2 weeks. Hopefully they will get the be putting it in on the 27th.

One of the funnest things I've learned is how to lay laminate flooring down. As I finished the last little bit of the entry way I felt that I had accomplished a great task. It looks so good. I realize that the flooring is made in such a way that an idiot can do it. Getting everything to line up just right and cutting the ones to fit right is somewhat difficult. Surprisingly it goes pretty fast. Anyways thats done, on to the bathroom.... OH JOY!!!!

Where I'm moving there is only one option for internet service and I think the price per month is too high, and as of the moment I've not signed up for it. I'm sure I'll buckle in and get it but I'll put it off as long as I can.

The house almost looks like a new place. There were several dead cotton wood trees on the property, my dad came by the other day with his handy dandy chainsaw, no more trees!!! Just getting rid of those gives the outside a facelift.

A few days ago I spoke this a contractor person who said that I don't have to get a permit in order to stucco the house, which makes me happy!! So I'll be saving my pennies and someday I'll get that done.

A Quick Thought

So I just got off work about 20 minutes ago. It was another rotten night in the ER. The good news is that it's my Friday and I have a few days off before I get to go do it again. I can't even begin to explain the things that happen at work. From the patients I care for, to the family members that are in my face, yelling at me for a bunch of bull sh---. I work my rear end off, I do at time actually get to save lives. But it seems as of late I've been getting a lot of full blown psych patients who want to get as much for free as they can. I don't mind working hard but this job is pushing me my last nerve. I can take care of you and meet you physical needs, I attempt to be a compassionate nurse, but no matter what it's never good enough. Someone will ALWAYS be mad and feel the need to get in my face. And I'm supposed to remain calm and be the bigger person, which by the way I do!

Right now it's hard to imagine that just six months ago I was so excited to be working as an RN. And now I'm counting down the days till I'm at my one year mark and can transfer to another department. Being an ER nurse has changed me, it's made me angry and cold at the world.

But I really shouldn't complain it pays good, it's allowing me to buy my first house, and I don't always have to be there. I get to go home and have a nice comfortable life. By hating my job so much it's made me value and want to be with my family even more. It's the highlight of my week to spend my days off with them. Many of my other good friends I seem to have fallen away from just because time is so short and I want to spend as much of it with the people I love and who really love me.

Ok I noticed I've had a lot of posts about work, I try to thing of something else interesting to write about. But for now, GOODNIGHT! :-)

HI!

It's been a busy last couple days, I go back to work tonight, so not much will be happening for the next three days. I think I'm coming down with the flu (body aches, sore throat...) great! And it's at the start of my work week. Anyone have a special formula that will make me better?!?!

I got the key to the house, and the carpet people came yesterday and measured. They should call either today or tomorrow to come put it in. Once it's in I'll move in. I'm hoping the carpeting to be put in before Thursday so I can rent a u-haul on Friday morning after work to move everything over.

My poor abused body is so tired right now, I'm off to make some soup and go back to bed.
